 o
green island ficus questions

I bought this plant. Can I take a shovel and cut it in half to make two as I have with many plants.Second are there any problems with it. It makes me nervous that ficus is in the name. I plan to put it in the ground outside of a large pot that will have a rose in it. Thanks

I don't know about cutting it in half, but I have green island ficus and they are maintenance free for me. They are slow growers unlike many other ficus.

What makes you nervous about these plants?

Ficus are such water hogs. I don't want anything else stealing water like the neighbor's nasty ficus tree.

Green Island Ficus are not water hogs nor do they send out an invasive root structure. Pretty much a well-behaved shrub that has been used to a great extent in commercial landscaping.
