Do not plant it in full afternoon sun. They like part sun in the morning and lot of water. I use sulfur to lower the pH, but I wouldn't worry too much about that right now.

Two more questions. What would be the best way to
propagate them to make more plants quickly. Also, do
they go dormant here, and if so how should I treat them
in the Winter?

They go semi-dormant in my yard in Pinellas. The leaves turn brownish and get spots on them. In the spring I remove the old leaves and they grow new green ones.

I've never tried to propagate them. Maybe try rooting a cutting?

Yes, I like to propagate Hydrangea via layering, which Kara says the pictured shrubs are doing on their own, cool. Bend a branch to the ground or a pot of soil, lay a brick or rock on it to hold it in contact with the soil. When it has roots and somewhere to go, separate it from the mama and dig up the new roots (if in the ground.) When done in a pot, it's not necessary to dig a hole next to the mama shrub, just cut the umbilical cord, so to speak. Very easy to do.

I think I am just repeating what purpleinopp said, but to clarify:

If you can't bend a branch all of the way to the ground, take a black plastic nursery pot. Cut a slit in either side of the pot, to about half way down, and make a hole at the bottom of each of those slits. Slide a long branch down the two slits and into the holes at the bottom so it lays across the center of the pot. Scrape away a small amount of bark off of the branch in the middle of the pot. Fill with potting soil. When it is rooted, cut the pot away from the shrub.

If the branch is short, you can do it with just one slit in the side of the pot, letting the end of the branch come up through the center of the pot.
