Dove weed problem

Does anybody have a suggestion on how to control dove weed in a St. Augustine lawn?

I hit it with Atrizine (sp?) last fall and Scotts Weed and Feed in the early spring. That seems to have worked for the crab grass but the dove weed is the healthiest I've ever seen. I don't know what to try next!

RE: Dove weed problem

Dove weed has deep tough roots.
It is almost impossible to pull it and get all of it out.
Use a shovel and dig up it's roots.
Use a pre emergent Fall and Spring.
Make sure the label says for St Augustine lawns.
It can take 2 years to see a big improvement.
Have your soil tested at the Ag Center.
