A Costa Rica trip...

Here are some views for all of you to enjoy. My daughter just came back and talking to her I can see that Costa Rica had changed a lot since I was there. She had a great time with nature, animals and food in especial the fruits. She brought me cheese, cinnamon, vanilla beans from the plantation and some mamonchillo seeds, lol. I told her it is going to take a long time to fruit.

    Hi Chrissy

If you never been there, you are going to like it. If you like nature and animals that is a very nice place to go. The fruit and spice plantation is not to miss it.

Great pictures Silvia, looks like Cheryl had a very good time. The kayak picture reminds me of a section of trail up here in Weedon Island, although the trees here very much shorter, more cave-like :-) Nice to see a good wine thrown in there....

Where did you see Puerto Rico? lol. It is also very pretty but I did not take pictures when I was there, I really like Old San Juan, The Fort and the casinos with music on the strip. Next time.:) And I love guanabana ice cream. Are you familiar with the fruits in the picture? there is mangosteen, mamoncillo, tree tomato, figs in syrup, dragon fruit and of course empanadas, my all time favorite!

I was there a long time ago and it was different especially the city, Cheryl said is more industrial now from what I remember, food is much more expensive and a lot of tourist now. She lived in Quito for a while so she is very familiar with the language and getting around anywhere also she can bargain, lol.

Gorgeous! I never knew the cacao was that large! And the sloth definitely reminds me of chewbacca from star wars. I've been to all of the 48 continental states multiple times and appreciated something about them all, but few compare to the places South of us that I've been fortunate enough to visit. There's just something about the flora and fauna that thrive in the heat and humidity that really appeals to me. The 2013 trip will be my first and I've just started my list of "must sees." Will definitely add the plantation. Thanks for the tip!

    Hi
Be sure to visit "Monte Verde." High altitude cloud forest. Everything up there is unique due to the low temps. Be sure to take the tour of the reserve or you'll miss half of it. Rooms are limited so be sure to reserve .

I hope she got to see the Arenal Volcano. The number one tourista attraction in the country, IMHO ! I was there twice, the first time the clouds ( neblina ) were low and thick most of the night, not much to see. But went again a few years later and the clouds lifted for the whole night ! Every room has a large window looking at the peak,..what a sight, red lava flowing down mostly all night. Didn't get much sleep tho ! ( smile )
