ECHO Tropical Fruit Tree nursery Ft Myers

I finally made it to ECHO nursery in Ft Myers-a challenge since it is only open from 9-12 noon. Wonderful place filled with edible plants and trees, many hard to find. The only downside is they don't ship. It is worth the trip in-person though.

I was looking for a sapodilla (ciku) and they had 4 varieties to select from which is amazing, chose "Malik" a dwarf with great flavor. The employee walked around with a huge reference book to explain the different varieties.

They had stuff I've never seen anywhere else (tropical edibles and spice trees and plants).

Huge vanilla vines for $25.

They also have a small but excellent bookstore about growing subtropical plants and trees, they sell seeds, etc.

Best of all their sales contribute to their work in developing countries helping people become self-supporting through agriculture.

No time to take their tour but that's on my future schedule.

The link will take you to their list of plants/trees. It's a little clunky to use and they had more for sale than their list includes but it's a start.

Here is a link that might be useful: Echo tree list
