| OK, Michael, I'll play. Tomato: Jettsetter! IMO, this is one of the very best tomato varieties (Central FL) for the fall planting. It is a shorter season tomato which means you get more of them before the first freeze hits, plus it is very disease resistant. Peppers: Marconi (outstanding performer!) Looking forward to trying your limas. Christine |

I want to play, but I am only getting into growing more veggies now. Tomato, the grape one from Publix. Grows all winter and into July for me. ;o) I saved the seeds and plant them. |

| Tomato--not sure, probably Better Boy and black cherry but I'm still looking. lettuce--"freckles" romaine Arugula--wild squash--patty pan, probably. Peppers--pimientos de padron, corno di toro, and pasilla chard--Lucullus egg plant--not sure. Right now I settle for ping tung long. beans--Romano for italian style. Still looking for the perfect filet. Collards--Georgia? Kale--red russian peas--Golden Sweet snow peas, or maybe just some type of English peas and harvest the sprouts herbs--sweet basil, rosemary, sage, nasturtiums, parsley, chervil, dill, cilantro, thyme, oregano, marjoram onions--whatever sets I can find. |

Good post ill-man . Excellent choices by all and a nice wide diversity of choices . Basil- chocolate and sweet have done well here . Dill , fennel , and parsley ( curly ) for the butterflies . Is this list for a Fall garden or a Spring garden ? |

| This is a wonderful idea. I don't have much veggie experience though. I do also highly recommend Marconi peppers. One plant from HD produced about a bushel last fall and winter. Excellent taste and fairly thick walled. Yardlongs are a must for us. Great productivity and we love the taste. |

| yeah, bill-i really liked that freckles romaine you grew this spring, and your chard. we need to swap seeds--i can give you some of the jericho and a new chard, Bionda Da Taglio, that christine gave me seeds for... i'd like to try the freckles and lucullus. wow, tom, that's an impressive list of tomatoes. and i know you've had great luck with them. any one of them that really stands out? if so, can i bum some seeds to try? in the interests of full disclosure--i don't really like fresh tomatoes that much. (ok, i like them, but not as much as most people.) so, my narrow and uncreative choices for tomatoes have to do with my low expectations--since the world's BEST tomato EVER would hardly get reaction from me, i look for disease resistance and yield... tiffany is a bit boring, but boy is it reliable. |

Michael, hands-down it's the Beefmaster, first for taste, second for hardiness and resistance and third for productivity. I'll send you some seeds...did you look at my Exchange list? I have some unusual cantaloupe, and several Icebox watermelons.... Tom |

| Tom - how are we going to enable you if you don't have any items on your want list ? Well, I did say my garden is too small, thus of the seeds I buy to try most of the excess will go bad since I can't use them...why not share them with others to see how successful a particular variety may do in a different Florida climate. One day I will be down to a select few varieties of each but there's surely no reason to let the surplus seeds go bad, no? |
