They seem to have identified it. Wondering if it is suitable for z 9 Fla.

Rhodoleia championii is not grown by anyone in South Florida. I checked with my three best sources in Homestead and two of them had never heard of it. Based on what I read on various websites, I doubt you'd have much luck in zone 9.

Here's a link to someone selling seeds. If you buy the seeds, send me some and I'll try starting them in the mistbed when we get home from Italy.

Caroliniana nurseries offer 1 gallon sizes but of R henryi
Which they clain is far hardier ?? They have a web site
and do mail order just google the name , gary

Gary - I would not think a plant grown in a South Carolina nursery would grow well in Florida.

Just happened to be looking at their catalog when this post appeared . Not familiar with either the plant or the nursery Seems to be very rare ?? have not found it listed
in other catalogs seems to be an interesting plant why is no body growing it?? gary
