I have had that happen with my mimosa and one other plant who's name currently eludes my memory.

When my windowpanes are filled with crisscrossing lines and a few of the culprits remain in the daylight. (Aquarium worms - planaria.) For years I thought these were flaws developing within the double panes, but this summer's rains reveal the stragglers from the night before's travels.
