Silver buttonwood

Has anybody successfully grown silver buttonwood in zone 9B? The nursery I bought them from claimed they were hardy but I look on the net and it seems they can't take any frost. I would like to create a 6 or 8 foot tall privacy hedge of Florida natives. I need plants that can take alkaline soil and sometimes wet feet. Any other plant ideas would be appreciated I want to use several kinds of plants to make the hedge interesting. Thank you in advance.
