Perennial Peppers

Seems as if I've seen mention of growing peppers as perennials on this forum. I know this can be done with the small fruited hot peppers, but how about bells and pimentos, or poblanos. Should they be pruned back? If so, how much and when? I have four poblanos in the ground from my spring garden that are through bearing and starting to look ratty. Can I get them to bear again by pruning them back? Thanks for sharing your experience .

I'm surprised nobody has chimed in on this one yet. Yes John, trim them back hard and give them a weekly dose of liquid fertilizer starting in about two weeks. You'll find that the sweet non-Bell's do better as perennials.
