I think they will survive, so pot them up. :o)

I skip the whole water thing ... everything goes straight to soilless potting mix. Of course not everything survives :-)

Actually, I do the same. Just put the cuttings in a pot, I even use potting mix, just be sure to get at least 3 leaf nodes in the soil and keep well watered. Crotons are easy to root, especially in the summer. But since you all ready had roots showing in the water I said to pot them.

Chinchette, I learned each plant likes to root from different spots, some like the new growth, others like year old wood and some like the oldest, so it's good to try one of each on something you want to root. On old wood you can take a hammer and hit the end to break it up so it will take up water or make a slit in the bottom with a knife. Just be sure to get at least 3 leaf nodes in the soil. Hope this helps you to propagate the plants you want to. :o)

What you have are called "water roots". They need to be hardened off in loose potting soil. Don't overwater them!
