Squishy, did you try putting it in shade for a few days? It always helps my transplanted plants- especially the ones that are weeds. Milkweed sometimes has a long taproot like root that gets broken during transplanting it and for me, they go into shock frequently. Try full shade a few days and it may/may not help. Ana

Thanks Ana, I never would have thought to place it in shade for a little while after transplanting. I figure since they adore the full sun here, it would be best. And I agree too, it appears as though it's experiencing a sever shock. I'll move it first thing tomorrow morning to a shadier location while it recovers, and hope that that helps. Some of the leaves are beginning to return to their original bushy, sturdiness. Meanwhile others are starting to yellow, although whether from the buckets of rain, or shock or both remains to be known. Thanks for the tip!

I wouldn't worry too much about milkWEED. I would wager that it will recover.

laura1, I probably wouldn't be so worried about it if it wasn't the only one I had. After I move I plan to make many more as this past season, the monarchs are "egg loading" as I call it and I don't have nearly enough to meet their demands. That said, it appears it was clearly just having difficulty adjusting (so, as you said Laura, didn't have to worry over it too much), it's doing fantastic now, the leaves are starting to really perk up. Thank you guys so much.

When it gets established, it really proliferates, comes up all over, the seeds will float in the air and volunteers appear quite a distance from the mother-plant, I really love mine, the caterpillars love it...sally
