Some mosquitoes will still probably get in when the door is open. I use coffee grounds in the cups to keep the mosquitoes out of mine.

Great question... but, how will you know the answer?!

I pulled out 99% of my hundred-plus broms (all the identical bloom-2-weeks-a-year-variety) a few years ago to fight the mosquitoes. Then the ankle-biters took over and they are invisible and silent! Come to think of it, these "no-seeums" might find their way through screens... does anyone know about that?

Seeing how beautiful a garden laced with bromeliads is well worth the skeeters. There is never going to be a garden without some pest/pollinator that is a slight aggravation .........without a lot of them our pretty gardens wouldn't exist.......

Yep, they sure do. You can get special no-see-'um screens but they make everything darker because of the smaller mesh.

Coffee grounds is perfect. I have lots of them. I will try that.

I brought in some cuttings last spring and put them in water. Later on I saw these little black round things fall off the leaves. At first I thought that there was a worm eating my leaves but later found they were mosquito eggs. this I found later as those little back round things were turning into mosquito larva. So I dumped out the water for those cutting and put in fresh water. I did not want to risk adding a drop of dish soap to my cuttings. I do know that a drop of dish soap in water breaks the water surface tension and they drowned when trying to come to the surface to hatch out. Just one more reason why I now take a misting bottle with me with a drop of dish soap in the water and spray any mosquitoes I see and so far they either go away or I am killing them..
