Jacaranda Trees

I followed a google link and unknowingly posted in the Texas garden discussions but I'm in Ocala so I tracked down this Florida forum.

Gonna construct a pop-up tent soon, to protect this tree and all my potted Jacaranda, along with my Tribble Serama, from any freezes.

Here is the progress of the tree from seedling to 7 footer.

Looks fantastic. Man I had no idea they grow that fast. How long til you have blooms? One of my favorite trees. I know many people complain how messy they are.........so what! That photo of the trees, all in a row is heavenly! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I don't think they usually bloom until they're at least 3 years old?
My main goal is to keep the tips from freezing so it branches naturally, instead of sprouting new growth that wants to go straight up.

I'm not going to stake the tree because it is extremely supple and it bends way over in a breeze. That kind of movement strengthens the walls of the trunk while still allowing a lot of flexibility.
