Dead Spots on Sweet Potato Leaf

I have these dead spots on my sweet potato leaf. They are appearing only on older leaves. I have had something similar on tomato leaves.

Today is the first clear bright day we have had in a long time. I wonder if this is some kind of burning that happened because the leaves are not adapted to the sun.

When this happened to my tomato plants, it just sort of stopped eventually.

Nothing like that on mine. I have been having a real problem with stinkbugs on my sweet potatoes.

Might be a leaf spot disease - there are a number of themÃ¢ÂÂ¦.

Editing to add:
Did you check to see what the undersides of the leaves look like? After thinking about this a bit more, it might also be insect damage.
