Avacado tree

We are thinking of trying to plant a Brogdon Avacado tree. Is this right time of the year to do so, or should I wait until April?

Thanks

Deb

Probably not any down side to planting now. Won't do much till spring. I planted two a few years back and got quite a few fruit off of one of them just this last season. They are quite cold hardy so that was a great choice in variety. When I planted mine, I dug out an extra sized pit and put some top soil material in the extra space to provide something besides just sand to give the roots a head start.

    Good luck!

Just remember The cold hardiness temps that you read are for well established trees. Be prepared to protect it in case of a hard freeze.
