I have three different green bean varieties in the patch.

very nice green beans! Nothing tastes better than fresh from the garden!

They look great. My pole beans are a couple weeks out to begin harvesting. I'm really stoked, cause I'm getting kind of tired of the cukes we have been getting in abundance!

Those look yummy, you are rite nothing like fresh green beans, I toss mine in butter after they are cooked and sprinkle wit italian bread crumbs and toss again, yummers!!

A chef once told me a simple way to cook green beans. Parboil them in water "salty, like the ocean". Drain. They can be refrigerated at this point for later. Then saute them in olive oil with a little bit of minced garlic. I then add softened dried cherries or dried cranberries. It's our family favorite.

I direct seeded a few varieties each of Ferry Morse "Marketmore 76" and "Tendergreen. Probably got them at Home Depot. I did not record in my book when I planted the seeds but it had to be mid September or so. I've had a few holes from bugs but we have gotten quite a few that didn't get touched and I sprayed very little pesticide.

Actually it must have been sooner than mid sep.
