We went and bought a few things

I advertised it, but I didn't attend it. I spent my day in the yard dismantling and rebuilding planter boxes.

It was definitely a beautiful day though. And in more ways than one. I don't know why, but today my house was surrounded by butterflies. Nothing has changed in my yard, except for the blooming of one Indian Blanket flower. But I had Sulphurs, Buckeyes (not usually seen in my yard), Gulf Frits and even had a couple of Zebra Longwings, which I hadn't seen in at least three weeks and thought had migrated. There were also some that I had not seen before so I don't have an ID for. At one point, a Gopher Tortoise came stumping through munching on the grass. Today was also the first time I have seen a tiny little Gulf Frit caterpillar munching on my Passiflora.

It was like all the wildlife had the same idea in mind, "It's a good day to get out!"

What? I kept yelling out your name all afternoon and people looked at me strangely, you didn't go? I think I got a sunburn, it was hot. We went, thanks Leekle you may want to go. The plants were even cheaper than the USF plant sale. I don't think there was as many vendors but there was plenty of eye candy.

Of interest to you might be the passiflora alata. It was gorgeous. Someone bought the only blooming vine for $20. There were 3 more, but not blooming.

They had hibiscus for $4, small ones, but plants just the same. The "air" orchids they had were fantastic.

Nice little town. It was a nice little trip to get out and enjoy the countryside

Oh we spotted one of the "regular" or is it tropical, milkweed, all flower, little plant and wasn't going to buy one, but it came with a monarch and my daughter wanted it. So I now have two types of milkweed and one very large cat! Amazing how many people noticed that cat on the plant. My daughter was an instant celebrity.

Oh I kept my eyes peeled for passion vines on the side of the road and didn't see any but I did see some goldenrod. I also saw a ton of Turk's Cap growing on the roadside??

The passion vine with the red/purple flowers was gorgeous.
