| Should I be cutting back these evergreen-type plants? Some of the foliage looks messy. I cut my rain lilies foliage back all the time but it grows back quickly. Please advise |

| Cutting any of the foliage of bulb-type plants will lower their vigour. You can snip the tips of the irises fan leaves, but no more than 1/3'rd of the top should be snipped unless you are transplanting. The others I would say no - the foliage yellows and browns naturally, returning and storing the energy into the bulb that's underground for the following year. |
