Squash has not done well for me in containers but I attribute that to being so close to the water, lots of humidity = PM/DM, and bugs. Point being I'm probably not the one to ask BUT I would say the bigger the better because squash roots will spread much more than cucumber roots and thus in a container more potting mix volume IS better.... This is one vegetable I honestly think you'd do better growing in the ground though....

Thank you Tom. My hubby is asking if you put anything on the joints of the cattle panel to stop them from rusting? He noticed a bit of rust in the joints of the ones we just bought and is concerned that we'll go through the time, trouble, expense and have it rust out.

I don't do anything to them...they'll outlast you ;-)
