Since I can't find any tips or suggestions saying "Cut back for a second bloom", I'm guessing it doesn't happen. One site did say something like, "Once your Muhly Grass has lost its pink color, you can trim them back for a cleaner look." If they were inclined to bloom again, I would think the article would have mentioned it. But I think I will leave the seeds where they are, billowy white works just as well as billowy pink. And I wouldn't mind seeing if any birds take interest as the season progresses and foods become more and more scarce.

I haven't tried the native muhly grass before but after seeing it planted in mass in some road dividers I might have to rethink that. It was so beautiful in bloom. I do have the bamboo muhly which I adore even if it doesn't seem to bloom.

I had the pink muhly grass, but had to take it out. It reseeded every where for me and I couldn't keep up with it. I am further south, and don't get a frost often. I guess it might have worked better if I cut it back after it bloomed, but I didn't do that soon enough. But when I finally did I seem to remember it coming into bloom again. So I think it would work for you, if you are not too cold in the winter.
