Susannah, I got the seeds. Thank you so much. Can I plant them now or should I wait till spring? What type of dirt should I use? Do they like full sun 'cause that is about all I have...lol.

Glad they arrived. Sorry it took me so long to put them in the mail. Plant them now. Mine doesn't get an inch of shade - it's actually grown enough to throw a little of its own at this point. It self-seeds a little in regular yard dirt that is not irrigated, so I wouldn't give it anything fancy. Something well-drained for sure. Another GWer whom I sent seeds to had trouble with them rotting, so I'd be careful not to water the seeds or seedlings too much.
My tree gets zero care, no water or fertilizer and has never had any pests - just lots of butterflies.
It does have thorns, so when you decide where to put it, keep that in mind.
Enjoy

Susannah - What color flowers is yours?

RE: Pride of Barbados - red

Red with yellow fringe. Seems like your neighbor has one like it.

I have yellow flowering seeds and pink flowering seedlings if you're interested.

I've never seen a pink one. That sounds really nice! I'll send you an email.
Thanks!
