Hi all,
I'm a longtime lurker while I've been teaching myself how to use a computer! I love seeing alll your pics of some beautiful gardens, so I'm attempting my first photo posting of mine. Not sure how the size will be so bear with me.
At any rate, my gardens are not mannicured at all but that's what I wanted. I have built paths and decks and have little seating areas around. (If this post works, I'll send more pics of those)
Sadly, my house is for sale and my 5 year old garden will belong to someone else. But as you all know, gardening is all about the process, so I'll be happy to start over somewhere else.
by the by, when and if I ever do sell, I'll have an estate sale and will post the date and location as I have over 75 containers which may be difficult to move so there will be bargains for all!
I hope you all enjoy the photos - sorry I don't know how to label them. I can tell you that the bamboo is Mosa and huge! and the little building is an artist studio.
and thanks to all for the posting instructions.
Well, I just previewed this and all the photos are to the right! You can see them if you scroll that way but maybe someone can write in and tell me what I did wrong! And they are awfully big.
I've spent the whole day so far trying to get this to work and need to go out now and pull some weeds!
Look forward to reactions/comments. Thanks

| The photos look fine, exactly where they're supposed to be. I'm glad to see you didn't neglect the garden while learning to use the computer. :>) Sorry you have to move off and leave such a beautiful place but I know what you about it being the process that counts. |

| Oh, Hester, Your garden is like a great work of art... a masterpiece!!! I looked at the photos for a long time, noting how there's interest high and low (and inbetween), how there's combinations of light and dark, all the attention to detail that is evident in someone who really observes and loves their garden. I love the informality and the foliage, and I love all the color and bit of formality you've added back through containers. It looks like paradise and my heart breaks that you are selling this labor of love. Please do post more areas. You've got the photo thing figured out, so go for it! Thanks for taking the time to post. I loved it. Anna |

Hester, your garden is beautiful, and also exactly the way I like mine too! Don't worry about the pictures, they are great. The first - and only - time I tried to post pictures, I crashed the site! |

| I love your gardens and I see you have a great white hunter to keep the wooly buggers away! I still don't know how to post pictures, I do have a camera but don't even know how to use it! Your way ahead of me! |

| WOW! I love what you've done! On the 2nd row, first pic on the left what is that plant with the BIG leaves? It's in front of the tall one - bamboo? I have some of that at my new house, no clue what it is, lol! Thanks! Good job. And all that in 5 years? If you get bored, you can come up and help me. ;) |

Hi Cathy- That philodendrum of some sort Monstera? I'm not too good with botanical names. That was the only thing that was here when we bought the house and I've moved a lot of it around. Easy to do if you want, just cut off a piece of stem with a root attached. It seems to grow well in part shade but I have some in full sun too. The bamboo was also here - it reaches up 4-5 stories and is wonderful in the wind. Glad you like the pics. I'll learn how to lable some day! Hester |

Magnificent! Too add labels to the pictures just put
which will add a break between the picture and the text then type the name of the picture. Example Picture (type) < (and type letters) br (and then type) > Petunia |

| OK, my instructions didn't show 'cause it was html. After you paste in the html code for the picture, just(type) < (and type the letters) br (and then type) > and then type the name of the picture. Type all of that without any spaces. The br in between the brackets <>will put the text at the bottom, if you type it after the image link. Try it out. |
