Great looking plant!!!

Very nice looking plant. Mine has dark blossoms, though it is labeled an integrifolia.

Tacca seeds can take up to 9 months to germinate. So, patience is required. I bought my plant as I did not have the patience :-)

It looks like you have yours planted in bark - is that the case? The one I purchased at the Tropiflora sale this year already has roots coming out of the drainage holes so I suspect it is due for repotting.

For large pots like the one for the tacca, I put 'packing peanuts' on the bottom for good drainage and to keep the pot light. I use Miracle Grow potting mix, or whatever is the best price, and top it off with bark to help prevent moisture loss. I have shuffled this tacca around to many different spots. It is best in shifting sun/shade and because the leaves are so large, it does best in a protected location out of strong wind.

I was told to wrap the flower stem around the base of the plant and just let it do it's thing. I am pretty warm here and have my black one planted out side and I have a lot of baby plants by the mother plant. I have it in a very protected spot, but I don't get to see the bloom much. My white one is blooming now too, but that is on the lanai in a pot.
