Does anyone know how to harvest seeds from this sage. When the flowers dry, they sit there and turn brown but don't resemble any seeds I've seen before?

As I understand it (and from a packet I got from the Wings and Wildflowers festival), sage seeds are TINY. I would imagine the means of seed collection is much like coleus. Grab an envelope, open it and shake the dried flowers into it. For myself, I just cleared out a small bed around my sage and I'm letting it self-seed the area, hopefully.

Also, as a point of interest, you can usually type these questions into google and you will find an article on eHow or some other site telling you how to do it. So try typing, "how to collect sage seeds" and let 'er go! Though, I admit, sometimes I like to hear it from my fellow Floridian Gardeners. I trust them more.

Leekle, google has a lot of answers but sometimes it only adds to the confusion. There are tons of experienced gardeners on here that can save hours of googling! I did see a video on youtube where they shook a sage stem into a bag for drying but that doesn't answer my question. I wanted to know exactly what part of the plant was the seed. The idea was to take some seeds and start them indoors.

Oh boy, I had no idea how big that thing would get. Luckily I put in an area where it can grow freely.

Actually, the one grown in FL is Calotropis gigantea

Thanks Eric for clarifying that. I, unable to usually remember the scientific names usually go for the generic names. I know this will get me in trouble sooner or later. I looked up the giant milkweed and it is my plant. Good catch.
