If I had to guess, I would say it is the much talked about and very invasive Golden Rain Tree.

Koelreuteria paniculata aka Goldenrain tree. I have a mature speciman in my side yard, and while I find lots of seedlings, they are easy to pull out.

The problem with that tree is the wind blows the seeds to God know where and almost all of them germinate. In S.Fl it is a class one invasive. There is one in my neighbors yard and I have at least a 1000 seeds to weed out in the spring from the tree. Every flower has 4 or more seeds in it. It is a shame too, because it is so pretty. :o)

I have seen the same tree in Collier County, but it doesn't look like the typical Golden Rain Tree (which I also see in abundance). Much more pink/lavender.

The one I've seen looks like this dogwood. However, I don't know how that can be as it appears dogwood is only to zone 9. Trying to attach a picture from Google.

Could it be a silk floss tree? Those are completely covered in pink flowers around here right now. Their most notable characteristic is a trunk completely covered in spiky thorns.

I looked up this tree because we are seeing it everywhere in the Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres area. Was told it was a Chinese Flame tree and not to plant one. Either is a golden rain tree or related to the golden rain tree and it is very invasive. They are on every street so I am sure they would take over quickly.

Yeah, they have the "Chinese Flame Tree" at my Home Despot, but every time I see it, I think, "Golden Rain Tree... gotta be."

There's another tree down here that's completely covered in very pink, showy flowers right now. I drive past it all the time and it looks almost like a Japanese/Saucer Magnolia from a distance. Void of all leaves, but covered in floral mass....in the event it's not the Chinese Flame Tree.

It is Koelreuteria elegans ssp. formosana, Golden Rain Tree or Formosan Flame Tree. Very invasive in FL zones 9 and 10.
