Zone 8B and Centipede Grass

Hi!
I was wondering if it is ok for me to lay down some centipede sod in Tallahassee? I see everyone is selling it, but I am not sure if special care needs to be taken since it is getting close to winter. I will post in the lawns section also. I was just hoping some here knows the answer also!
