Change it in the zone field while making a post. It should stick then.

I can't change my user name to show Florida. I changed the zone, but I still show as NY.

I'm seeing "9-10" for your zone now. Changing in profile often doesn't stick until you change that field while making a post.

Your user name was initially set up by you to show NY as part of your user name. It cannot be changed without you becoming a different user. You would have to log out and re-register with the new name you prefer and just let your old name jane__ny slide off into the sunset and not use that name again.
