A seedless papaya ????

Just sliced open a soft, round yellow papaya the size of a football from my raised bed out back. It sat for 2 days on the kitchen counter till it got soft. But lo and behold, I sliced it open and found NO SEEDS whatsoever ! Just a thin beige film that I scraped out with a spoon.
It smells good & the flesh looks a healthy orangy color, but this is a first for me. Is this fruit OK to freeze & eat later ?
Appreciate any info.
