Some varieties of Papaya will produce seedless fruits if there is no male Papaya nearby to pollinate it.

Yeah, but are they OK to eat ? ( smile )

We have never hesitated to eat seedless papayas.

I had a tree that did the same thing: few to no seeds - fruits were fine, somewhat bland fresh, but simply awesome dehydrated.

Thanks guys, have it carved up & in the freezer. I top my cereal in the morning with the papaya slices, same as I do with the mango's. The mango's however are a good 6 - 8 months away, but these papayas look delicious right now. Can't think of a healthier fruit to munch on !
