Mussaenda erythrophylla

I was in St Pete today and gave in to an impulse and purchased a salmon Mussaenda erythrophylla. I paid a pretty penny for it and so hope I can keep it alive. I am located in Lehigh Acres. Should I keep it in a pot or put it in the ground? I read they can blow over in a wind; should I stake it? The site I looked at also said it did best in part shade to full sun. Does this go for Florida? Any advice will be appreciated.
