corn plant wont grow

ive had a corn plant for about 6 months now and it will not grow. i bought it at walmart as foliage could this anything have to do with it? it doesnt have a trunk or stem like the tall ones do it goes straight from the plant to the dirt. any suggestions? thanks.

Do you mean a real corn plant - similar to the black millet I grow as an accent plant - or something like a Dracaena or Yucca that looks similar to a regular corn plant?

If you're growing Dracaena - it can be very slow to develop a trunk of any kind. Think years, not months. If you can put it out over the summer and keep it fed/watered you'll probably see some growth to reward your patience.
