Thinking of planting some red variety castor beans

I planted some of the green ones a few years back and they wanted to take over. It did solve the mole and gopher problem. I have moved since and wish to plant some of the red varieties. Also for gophers and moles. I do have some sheep and a group of fox terriers. Now from a toxicology point are the seeds the only very toxic part? If a sheep ate a leaf would it die? How distateful are the plants foilage? Will dogs eat the seeds?

I thought I might ask before I jumped off and planted some the reds are so pretty. I do have a real bad gopher and moles problem. I have 3 acres and run irrigation so when it gets hot and dry guess where they come to. Yeah me, I feel like I am feeding the critters. Trapping in my sand is very hard as tunnels are not real apparent. I have 6 traps- 3 for gophers and 3 for moles.

A little help please.

Jim
