right plant for this setting?

Hi. I'm in zone 5 (western Massachusetts) and looking for a plant that may grow tall (10-20 feet) but remain narrow (1-4 feet). I want something that will give me a pretty, light, leafy look when I view it from inside the house during spring and summer. Winter doesn't matter.

I care far more about interesting leaf shape than flowers or berries. My ideal of gorgeous foliage would be the deeply-lobed leaves of bloodroot.

The setting is along a narrow strip between the house foundation and the driveway. The house wall faces northeast, so there isn't much direct sun. But there is a driveway and then a fairly open area next to that, so it's actually quite light and not shady.

Can anyone recommend a plant with light, leafy, interestingly-shaped foliage that would suit this location? Thanks!
