Don't Laugh, Coleus question:

Hey All,
My 9 year old godson planted Coleus seeds at school and now is delighted to have a seedling (approximately 6 inches tall) in a small pot (3 inches high with a 3 inch opening at the top.)
He has taken this plant out to the house where he and his mom summer and he has two questions:
1, Are the leaves okay (see photo)?
2, Does it require either a larger pot or transplanting to the garden to thrive?
All help is appreciated-
