Dark Purple Clover Leaves

I was given a clipping of a plant that looks like broad four cleaf clovers. The leaves are dark purple and look a little like butterflies. Its root looks like a 3 inch long pineapple tectured bulb. What is this plant? She said it was a Purple Clover...but after going to hortiplex I found that thas is not the case...

It sounds like oxalis.
