Well, eventually if it is a syngonium, it will form a vine. It might help to have a picture, but syngonium and caladium have pretty similar care conditions.

Doesn't sound like any caladium color I have ever seen anyplace. A type of elephant ear sounds more likely with those colors than caladium. Sharon

Caladiums grow from a bulb/tuber. You might be able to determine the ID that way. I think both caladiums & synogoniums can come with some slight red veining - especially in the center. The synogonium will become a vine, but to me, their leaves tend to be smaller. Caladium leaves can be much larger but this is obviously not a good rule as light, water, fertilizer, etc can have an effect on size.

You may have one of the syngonium allusion series. They have bronze or pinkish tones on the leaves. Check out the url below.
