Burned Coleus?

We live in Colorado and we have wizard coleus (green and white) growing underneath our crabapple tree. It is beautiful in the Spring and early summer. It does get sun in the morning and late afternoon. The tree is on a drip system and the whole area gets watered daily. But now it has turned brown and we don't know if it is from the sun or what?

My Pineapple Coleus DID most obviously get sunburned. It developed crisp, brown dead spots on bleached out palest yellow leaves - so I set it back into bright shade (just beyond the reach of sunbeams on my porch) and it is growing bright chartreuse, healthy leaves again...

It may have drowned if it was in the ground being watered daily.
