Greer Gardens and Gossler Farms Nursery both carry this in the 5 gal size, but they are asking $150 for the plant, plus shipping. (not sure, but that size would most likely fall into the 'special shipping arrangements'). I wonder if it would be better to do some phone shopping and see if one of the nurseries within driving range that specialize in unusual or hard to find plants would carry a smaller aralia, or you might even find a more reasonable cost by asking one of them to special order it for you...

Fairweather Gardens in New Jersey had it in their fall catalog. Don't recall how much.

These are grafted plants imported from Holland, with a 90% mortality rate, according to Roger Gossler of Gossler Nursery, that is why he charges so much. I bought one from him several years ago, and it grows about four inches a year, and this is in California with a nine month growing season. The grafted plant I originally bought was about three feet high, and must have been several years old. I guess when you take this all into account, 150 dollars is a bargain.
