The winter sun doesn't provide enough light, so your plants went leggy trying to find enough.

I grow lettuces successfully under lights, though. So you might try that. Something as simple as a shop light, with the bulbs kept a couple of inches from the plants, should do nicely.

I think I want to try it too. Time to grow some greens!

Don't foget other greens as well. I've grown all sorts of them indoors under lights, including many of the Asians, rocket, mustard, etc. Not all of them will reach full size. But there's nothing quite like a salad of baby greens either.
