My summer squash plants are large and healthy looking and the fruit is firm and large but the color is both green and yellow. I have researched a little and found that it could be a virus of some sort. Will they still edible and what can I do to the soil to prevent this from happening again,I am growing them in a earthbox and have'nt found much information on this problem, any info you can give will be most appreciated.

It has a virus and the fruit will most likely be bitter. I would check with you local extension agent for help with the problem. As for me I never found out how but pulled up my plants.

Could it be the variety of Zepher squash that is 2/3 yellow 1/3 green?
