Four Season Vegetable Gardening

vegetables for winter?

I'm very new to gardening and am wondering if there's anything I can plant now, perhaps in a pot AND in the shade, for winter?? I've got some herbs, tomatoes, scallions, and lettuce growing and have no more room in my dirt bed on my patio. So I need to go with containers now.

Depends how much shade. You could try some cabages - they look nice in individual pots.
