Growing Potatoes

| It's October and I wanted to try to grow French fingerling potatoes but they're all sold out everywhere. I know I should have put the tubers in the ground by late August but I'm in Northern CA and I'd like to see if I can have a successful yield in early spring.
I have some leftover French Fingerlings from my late summer harvest but none have any eyes that I can see. I'm wondering if I cut them up and put them in the ground now if I might have some success. Anyone ever tried planting tubers with no visible eyes? |

| I have when I lived up north but they were a different variety. Some grew, some didn't. |

Hi Claire, I know this reply is months late, but I just saw French fingerlings left at Peaceful Valley Farm Supply (groworganic.com), organic and a little expensive at $4.95/lb. |
