What grows here

Hi,
Moved to zone 8 (So Oregon) last year.
Nighttime winter temps dip sometimes into the 20's.
daytime get into the 50's.
What veggies actually can grow outside in these temps?
Thanks,

Wally

Broccoli and Cabbage can survive if you start them early and they reach some size by the time the freezes role around. Frost improves their flavor. Bok Choy and Chard also will survive that climate. It's really the rain and the attendant slugs that cause trouble in winter. I'm familiar with western wa and I think s. oregon gets less rain so you should be alright. Theresa.

Kale is good, too. Try dinosaur kale and then make a minestrone soup and plop some in. Yummmmmm
