the flowers on mine began to open a couple of weeks ago and, with the blast of arctic air and snow we had last weekend, have remained in a state of semi-open flowers. i was under the impression that my area was too hot for these shrubs until a few years ago. glad i found out differently - what a nice fragrance. |

| I think you will like this. The Song Dynasty painting is preserved in the Palace Museum of Taipei. It is painted 1100 years ago. It supplies a rare window into the lives of ancient gardeners. Can you find Daphne Odora thumb in it?

| Mmmmmmmm, Daphne!! One of my faves for fragrance, but not even close to hardy hear, even with global warming . . . I still might get one this spring to bring in during the winter, along with all the other temperates and tropicals! Nice picture! Jim |

Very impressive images! Daphne is in the basket, also the red camellia. Daphne can be found in the wild in southern China. Local people called it" Jin-Bian-ru-Shiong" or " Gold-Trim- Blessing-Fragrance" |

| Yeah, longriver, the Spanish Camellia guy gives me a picture of their show this spring. The basket looks almost the same. Lol. |

| Great photos of your daphne! I would love to capture the aroma in an oil or mist somehow - have anyone ever tried? I've heard it's toxic so not sure about using it on the skin, but maybe for aromatherapy? |

| Oh, that creamy pink color ... ... that wafting fragrance. For those broken-hearts of Gardenia, you might try this sweetheart ;-)
