This plant want's to be a tree!
Mine is well over 12 foot.
It needs full sun,
so when it gets warm out, put it outside.
Trick to get it to bloom ---
Rain !!!
- a good rain and they bloom 10 days later.
This/or next spring give it a haircut.

Wow! Cheryl, the scent on that tree must be overwhelming! I'll bet it's alive with bees, too.

Thanks for the tip about rain/watering. I'm definitely going to see how that works out.

wow that tree is magnificent.. i'm in awe! The scent must be incredible when it's in full bloom.

I'm totally jealous that you can grow them outside! To think in Sydney they're as common as privets.
I ordered one from Logee's this year and another from Zone 9 Tropicals. You can't have too many scented plants, right?

I can tell you it's very over whelming
with fragrance and bees when they are in bloom!
I actually have 4, 2 in the ground and 2 in pots.
Love them.
A couple of years ago you were not aloud to buy or sell them in Florida.
They are a close relative to orange trees.
The orange industry said they spreading diseases
and ordered them not to be sold.

You would think with all the bees a polinating,
I'd have more seed. Very few.
I looked on there tonight and there were none.
And what ever falls on the ground,
only 1 or 2 plants sprout a year.
We have had temps in the 70's here this week,
and with 3" of rain a week ago,
they're budding up for another burst of flowers.
I sorry, I know the rest of the country is having
the worst snow storm of the centry!.......cheryl
