mine don't suffer from the occasional frozen precip either. the only one i have lost was due to an extended cold spell where the temps never rose above the low-to-mid-20's for a week. that killed a large one in an exposed location outright. another same-sized one was spared, most likely from the tree canopy over it.
looks like your plants get some relief from late afternoon sun? that is how i like to grow them, too; in partial shade.

I too, long for the spring. I am getting so sick of this winter and snow! lol

Do you realize that when I look across my yard, I am neck even with the snow to walk acroos it. I need skis to get across. I hate winter!

Such a great job with your plants and I love the view. I think you must live in a nice area, that should although be much warmer than that, sheesh

That big snow-covered bush in the right side of this photo is a gardenia. The snow didn't faze it.
