Hi y'all! Was wondering whether anyone has had experience with Fragrant Cloud Honeysuckle. I'm tempted to buy one to tuck into a sunny southwest patio corner, to hopefully scramble up a trellis. Would it be happy?

Hi Posy! I don't have Fragrant Cloud but I do have Lonicera periclymenum 'Scentsation' and 'Serotina' (different cultivars of this honeysuckle species). Mine are doing great growing in a bed that receives full sun until about 2pm. -Robert

A quick Google shows a gorgeous plant covered in beautiful blooms, and Honeysuckle always smells wonderful. I don't have this variety, but I do have several others... they seem to like placement in full sun, and do require a sturdy fence or other support to climb. If you can provide it with enough sun, I'd say it would make a nice addition to the garden. I didn't check on its tolerance for cold or heat, so I'd look into preferred zone before purchasing. Several of the more popular catalogs should carry it.
