I have never rooted gardenia cuttings before(I have several rooted plants), so I can't offer any first hand advise...but I did post a link below that tells you how to root them...HTH

Thank You Puglover! She was a beauty, but lately I've got yellowing leaves with some browning. I've checked for root rot, but the roots look great, so I don't know what gives. I took some cuttings from the best branches- 3. Hopefully they'll take root....
I did cave in and buy a small Veitchii at the grocery store- I know I know... I had to wick out all of the water, (it was in a "cache" pot with no holes and about an inch of water!) and I have to spray just in case....
I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment, but this one is small, and I do better with small plants!
