spice trees??

3 years ago I got myself a little Allspice plant and I loved it. Now I'm thinking of getting it again. The leaves of this Allspice when crushed has a nice cinnamon-clove smell.

Thinking about it... what about Bay rum, and Cinnamon, and Clove? I'm sure they smell nice too. I'd love to try them this year. I think I'm onto another addiction. Lol.

What about you, do you have a spice tree that you would like to grow?

I just got a Cinnamomum Zeylanicum tree a few weeks ago which I absolutely love. You can make a tea out of the leaves. I scratch my fingernail against the bark and then smell the wonderful, fresh cinnamon fragrance. It seems to like almost complete shade. I'd like to get an Allspice tree too because the leaves are so fragrant and you can add it to many dishes to impart its flavor.

Lot's of chicken feet running around here..lol

Does it have a fragrance if you brush up net to it like, I hope I don't get anyone started on this, fragrant Geraniums?

Must you scratch of crunch the leaves to have that fragrance? It seems to be one I'd like for sure.

That's so exciting Phoebe. Now I definitely have to get one. Hehee. Does its leaves have a cinnamon smell too?

Run chicken feet run.. lol. Mike, from what i remember, touching the Allspice's leaves did give off a scent but breaking the leaves would give off a much stronger smell. Ooh Geraniums... some of them do smell pretty nice. : )
