Anyone grow Gradenia outdoor in Charlottesville, VA?

I bought 3 cold hardy Gardenia (August Beauty) last Spring from the same nursery. They were supposed to be cold hardy to 0-10F. In Feb, we had few days in single digits. One got burned leaves really bad but is still alive, and the other two are dead now.

Has anyone had any success in growing Gardenia ourdoors in zone 7A?
